We hope that you have all had a wonderful school
holidays and we welcome you to the start of another fun-filled term! We are
delighted with all that the children have achieved so far and look forward to
watching them progress even further this term!
In Literacy this week we will be reviewing all sounds covered last semester (S,A,T,P,I,N,M,R,C,K,H,E,D). We will continue to practise identifying rhyming words and counting syllables in words using our bodies (head=1, shoulders=2, stomach=3, knees=4).
In Numeracy we will be focusing on the number
11. Children will practise counting to 11, writing the number 11, and using
one-to-one correspondence to count up to 11 items. We will also be revising
numbers 1-10 and simple patterns.
A few key reminders for Term 3:
- Please
ensure that your child’s portfolio is returned by the end of Week 1, so
that we can keep adding to their portfolio throughout the term.
- Please
keep checking the blog regularly, as we will continue to use the blog as a
platform to post photos, reminders, and updates on what children are
learning at school each week.
- Please
continue to work with your child at home to practice concepts taught at
school, and most importantly have fun while you do this! – Studyladder is a
great way to help your child revise concepts at home and new activities
will be added to Studyladder each week.
As always, please contact me if you have any
questions or concerns. We look forward to another amazing term ahead!

We loved having our Year 2 buddies read to us!
This week we enjoyed dot painting our Aboriginal clapping sticks. It will be very exciting when the paint has dried and we can start using our clapping sticks to make music!
This week we learnt about the Australian Aboriginal dreamtime story Tiddalik the Frog and decided to make our own Tiddalik frogs!
