Week 3

Literacy

This week we learnt the sound Yy as in yoyo, yachts, yellow and yoghurt. We have been applying our letter sound and sight word knowledge to read and write simple sentences. A focus for Term 4 is identifying the Final and Middle sounds in CVC words. This skill involves listening carefully to the word and identifying those sounds that you can hear e.g. sun … s u n.

Numeracy

We continue to work with teen numbers. This week we learnt about the number 18. We continue to develop our counting skills by practising one-to-one correspondence. We will also be creating patterns and learning the days of the week.
